Summary
The course deals with fire origin, development and full development and also
fire interruption and other associated phenomena accompanying fires in open
and confined spaces. It presents procedures for the determination of fire
extent and area, heat and smoke exchange in structures and the determination
of safety distances from fire.
Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit
The essence of this course is application of knowledge in the evaluation of conditions and the risk of de-fires in the open area and in confined spaces. The course explains the real fighting ability to understand the physical and chemical principles of the burning process. Includes application of knowledge to simplify the implementation process of theoretical laws combustion, heat transfer and mass transfer, the spread of smoke and phenomena associated with the development of a fire. Then to take advantage engineering tools for the calculation of selected parameters of the fire and assess the conditions for its breadth-fire. Evaluates assumptions for the formulation of conclusions for the evaluation and development of fires in real terms based on the knowledge properties and behavior of a real fire.
