Learning Outcomes of the Course Unit |
---|
When absolving the subject, student will be able, with the help of legislation and opendatabase sources, to identify basic dangers of chemical compounds from the point of view of industrial toxicology, to define information necessary to estimate exposure and to assess risks. |
Course Contents |
---|
Industrial Toxicology as a scientific discipline and management system. Compounds dangerous for human
health and their impacts: system toxicity, cancerogenity, mutageneicity,
reproduction toxicity, teratogenity, corrosivity, irritant properties,
environmental toxicity and other effects (endocrine disruptors, allergens,
sensibilitation). Dose - response dependens, limits of dangerous compouns in
working and living environment, risk assessment, information sources concerning
industrially used chemicals
