1st year
• The course Safety in Electrical Engineering will be newly realised in block form at the beginning of the winter semester. The dates of the lessons will be published on the web pages of the department at the beginning of September.
• The electronics department is a specialised department.
• The specialisation of electronics has two lines:
• Industrial electronics
• Commercial electronics
• In the first and second years the students enrol in compulsory and optional-compulsory courses on the basis of the instructions given by the department secretariat or its web pages.
• The students enrol in optional courses according to the recommendations of departments in relation to the topic of their Master’s thesis.
• If the student has passed some courses (Access Networks, Telecommunication Networks) during his Bachelor’s studies, he must not enrol in them during his Master’s studies. In order to get credits, students choose courses from the offer of optional courses of the specialisation in Electronics. After agreement with the specialisation guarantee it is possible also to choose optional courses from other specialisations of Master’s studies that are related to their Master’s thesis topic.
• To pass into the second year, the student must get 40 credits for the first year.
2nd year
• The lessons in the summer semester last only 10 weeks.
• The scheduled excursions are part of the study plan.
• Final state examination courses:
Compulsory course (the course content forms the main courses of the specialisation):
• Electronics
Optional course (the course content is given by the courses with a specialised focus; the student always chooses only one course):
• Control and Output Electronics
• Instrumental Electronics
The courses in English, German, Russian and Spanish conversation are intended for:
1. students who wish to go on a study stay abroad (for example within the Erasmus programme); they enrol in the course for the semester before their scheduled departure;
2. students who link to the Master’s studies, according to the capacity of the foreign language department;
3. students of Bachelor’s studies who are to pass an exam in a foreign language (usually after having completed four semesters of foreign language education), according to the capacity of the foreign language department.
The students can enrol in a course only once during their studies at FEI. The number of students who can enrol in this course will be limited by the capacity of the foreign language department. Those students who are leaving for a study stay abroad always get priority. The students of related Master’s studies come next.
The education is always to be discussed individually at the foreign language department.
