• The timetable of the Safety in Electronics course will be published on the web pages of the department (www.fei.vsb.cz) at the beginning of September.
• The student is obliged to enrol in English for the first four semesters.
• The student is obliged to undergo two semesters of physical training during the first year; he chooses the sport according to the offer of the physical training department at the beginning of the semester. Other choices depend on the student. The physical training department also offers the student the chance to take an optional course in Physical Training and to participate in one-week winter and summer training workshops. Detailed information is available directly from the Physical Training department.
• The student’s studies are checked after the winter semester; the student must get a minimum of 16 credits in order to continue the summer semester of the first year.
• The student needs at least 40 credits to pass into the second year.
• During his studies, the student must take two courses offered by the Social Sciences department. The first course is scheduled for the summer semester of the first year. The student will be invited to choose by the department management by means of its web pages during the examination period after the winter semester. The second course is scheduled for the winter semester of the second year and the student chooses it at the time of their initial enrolment.
• Only students who got 5 points or less at the entrance examination and students doing the part-time form of studies are enrolled in the course the Basics of Mathematics.
2nd year
• The students must enrol in all compulsory courses, as well as the optional-compulsory courses given for the specific specialisation.
3rd year
• The students must enrol in the following optional-compulsory courses: Power stations, Transfer and Distribution Plants for Electrical Energy, and Electric Light and Heat.
The courses in English, German, Russian and Spanish conversation are intended for:
1. students who wish to go on a study stay abroad (for example within the Erasmus programme); they enrol in the course for the semester before their scheduled departure;
2. students who link to the Master’s studies, according to the capacity of the foreign language department;
3. students of Bachelor’s studies who are to pass an exam in a foreign language (usually after having completed four semesters of foreign language education), according to the capacity of the foreign language department.
The students can enrol in a course only once during their studies at FEI. The number of students who can enrol in this course will be limited by the capacity of the foreign language department. Those students who are leaving for a study stay abroad always get priority. The students of related Master’s studies come next.
The education is always to be discussed individually at the foreign language department.
