Year 1:
• The subject of Safety in Electronics will be taught by way of extended sessions at the beginning of the winter term. The period of the lessons will be announced at the web pages of the Faculty at the beginning of September.
• Project focused seminars – in year 1, students will work on two-term project (compulsory subjects SP I and SP II).
The topic of the term project falls into one of the following fields of study:
1. AD – Data Analysis
2. DAIS – Databases and Information Systems
3. PGZO – Computer Graphics and Image Processing
4. PSS – Computer Systems and Networks
5. SWI – Software Engineering
6. TI -Theoretical Information
The topic of the project is determined by the set of compulsory optional subjects of OSP of each student (these subjects will be compulsory to students). The list of subjects related to the term project is determined by the pedagogue who has announced the topic and makes it public together with the topic of a term project in IS KATIS, see http://katis.cs.vsb.cz/. A student must register for a topic in the IS KATIS, and must consult his/her registration with the pedagogue. A student is to sign up for the subjects related to the project in their OSP in IS EDISON at the time of regular sign-up period.
The remaining credits of the recommended 60 per a year are to be obtained from subjects selected by a student from the study plan.
• Students decide on the topic of their Master’s degree in the spring term of year 1 which then determines the set of compulsory optional subjects of OSP in year 2 of each student (these subjects will be compulsory for all students). The list of subjects related to the term project is determined by a pedagogue who has announced the topic and makes it public in a note of the Master’s thesis assignment in IS EDISON. A student is to sign up for the subjects related to the Master’s thesis in their OSP in IS EDISON at the time of regular sign-up period. Students are also to select optional subjects considering the optional subject selected for the final state exam.
• To be able to progress into year 2, a student must obtain 40 credits from subjects passed in year 1. All subjects a student signes up for, including optional ones, become compulsory on the day of signing up.
• Detailed instructions on signing-up into OSP can be obtained at the given field Department. The field Department is the Department of Informatics.
Year 2:
• All subjects a student signs up for, including optional ones, become compulsory on the day of signing up.
• Detailed instructions on signing-up into OSP can be obtained at the given field Department. The field Department is the Department of Informatics.
• In the summer term, lessons are given only for the duration of 10 weeks.
• A student of year 2 is to sign up to optional subjects selecting only from the subjects offered for the given year.
• A student may register for the final state exam provided he/she has completed all signed-up subjects, has obtained 120 credits for the entire follow-up Master’s studies, and has submitted his/her Master’s thesis.
The final state exam includes:
- The defence procedure of the Master’s thesis
- An exam from the compulsory subject of Information Technologies
- An exam from a compulsory optional subject. A student may select at least one subject from the following compulsory optional subjects:

4. Computer Systems and Networks
5. Software Engineering
6. Theoretical Information
