In the course of their studies, students enroll for all compulsory subjects and in the winter semester of the second year, one compulsory optional subject offered by the Department of Social Sciences.
They can also enroll in optional subjects. All enrolled subjects, including elective, become binding on the date of enrollment.
1st year of study
• The subject Safety in Electrical Engineering will take place in a block form at the beginning of the winter semester according to the AY schedule on the faculty website.
• Checking of study takes place after the winter semester, the student must reach min. 16 credits for continuation in the summer semester.
• Students in the first year of study must complete all winter semester courses prescribed for the 1st year in order to continue the summer semester.
• The minimum number of credits required to proceed to 2nd year is at least 40 credits.
2nd year
• During the summer semester, students choose the topic of their bachelor thesis.
• Progress to the 3rd year must meet all the obligations prescribed for the 1st year and get min. 40 credits from 2nd year subjects.
3rd year
• Summer semester is only 10 weeks long.
• A student can apply for the state final examination:
- has completed all enrolled subjects,
- obtained at least 180 credits for the whole bachelor's study,
- submitted a bachelor thesis in term.
• Final Examination Range:
- defense of bachelor thesis,
- compulsory subject: Electrical Engineering,
- compulsory subject: Electroenergetics.
The study plan includes planned excursions.
Students sign up for a specific level of English language for each of the first four semesters. The language levels are as follows: a – beginners, b – advanced. Students are automatically signed up for an advanced level of English language. Please contact the Department of Studies in order to change the level.
Students are obliged to complete two semesters of the subject Physical Education in the first year of their studies. Students can select a particular sport from the list offered by the Department of Physical Education at the beginning of the semester.
During his studies, the student must take two courses offered by the Social Sciences Department. The first subject Fundamentals of Law I is scheduled for the summer semester of the first year. The second subject is scheduled for the winter semester of the second year and the student chooses it at the time of creation of personal study plan for the second year.
Only students who got 5 points or less at the entrance examination are enrolled in the subject the Basics of Mathematics.
The student may sign up for the subject Introduction to English Business and Technical Correspondence) only once while studying at FEI (Bachelor’s + Follow-up Master’s).
Subject: English, German, Russian, and Spanish conversation is designed for:
1. Students who want to travel abroad (e.g. in terms of Erasmus programme); these students are to sign up for the subject for the term preceding the travel.
2. Students of the Follow-up Master’s studies, by the capacity given Department of Languages.
2. Students of the Bachelor’s studies who passed the exam from English language (regularly after completing four terms of English language lessons), by the capacity given Department of Languages.
Students can sign up for the subject only once during their studies at FEI (Bachelor’s + Follow-up Master’s). The number of students who can sign up for this subject will be limited by the capacity given Department of Languages. Students travelling for a study stay abroad have always preference, and then students of follow-up Master’s studies. The lessons must be always arranged for individually at the Department of Languages.
