• The course Control and Information Systems includes the areas of knowledge from basic application areas of the study program.
• A student who has passed all the registered subject, acquired 180 credits for their entire bachelor studies and handed in their bachelor thesis may sign up for the state final examination (SFE).
• The state final examination includes
- Defence of the bachelor thesis
- Oral examination in the mandatory subject Cybernetics
- Oral examination in the mandatory subject Control and Information Systems
When evaluating both subjects, account is taken of:
-the average of the main subjects of the program (compulsory subjects)
• The course Cybernetics includes the areas of cybernetics and other related subjects of the theoretical basis.
• A student who has passed all the registered subject, acquired 180 credits for their entire bachelor studies and handed in their bachelor thesis may sign up for the state final examination (SFE).
• The state final examination includes
- Defence of the bachelor thesis
- Oral examination in the mandatory subject Cybernetics
- Oral examination in the mandatory subject Control and Information Systems

• The subject Safety in Electrical Engineering is enrolled by all students, after verification of knowledge, students are instructed in accordance with the provisions of §4, Decree. 50/1978 Sb. and can perform activities on el. facilities in FEI laboratories. The schedule of the course Safety in Electrical Engineering will be published on the faculty's website (www.fei.vsb.cz) at the beginning of September.
• The course Basics of Mathematics must be enrolled only by those students who have achieved 5 points or less in the entrance exams and by students of the combined form of study.
• During the study, the student must complete 2 courses offered by the Department of Social Sciences. The first subject History of Science and Technology is included in the study plan in the 1st year of the summer semester. The second subject Sociology is included in the study plan in the 2nd year of the winter semester.
The control of the study takes place after the summer semester, the student must reach min. 40 credits for progression to the 2nd year. If the student does not obtain 40 credits, he / she must apply to the study department for a repeat of the 1st year.
• To advance to the 3rd year, it is necessary to meet all the obligations prescribed for the 1st year and obtain at least 40 credits from the 2nd year subjects.
• In the 1st, 2nd, 3rd year, students enroll in all compulsory and optional subjects of type B.
• Detailed instructions for enrolling subjects in the OSP can be obtained from the department or the website of this department.
• All enrolled subjects, including electives, become binding on the day of enrollment.
• The department is the Department of Cybernetics and Biomedical Engineering.
• Teaching in the 3rd year in the summer semester takes 10 weeks.
• Possibilities of completing the course Bachelor Seminar 1 and 2:
a) elaboration of the topic from the department
b) elaboration of the topic from the company
c) in the form of internship in a company (at SZZ the student presents a final report on the course of internship).
The study plan also includes planned excursions.
• Students sign up for a specific level of English language for each of the first four semesters. The language levels are as follows: a – beginners, b – advanced. Students are automatically signed up for an advanced level of English language. Please contact the Department of Studies in order to change the level.
• Students are obliged to complete two semesters of the subject Physical Exercise in the first year of their studies (Physical Exercise A and B). Students can select a particular sport from the list offered by the Department of Physical Education at the beginning of the semester. Other choices are up to students. The Department of Physical Education also offers students in all semesters and study years the possibility of completing an optional subject, Physical Education, and of attending one-week winter and summer physical exercise courses. • Subjects of the block are supplementary vocational subjects that do not have a direct link to the FSE. The student chooses all subjects of the PVB block according to the year and semester.
• Only students who got 5 points or less at the entrance examination and students of combined study are enrolled in the subject the Basics of Mathematics.
• Students enroll in optional courses according to their preferences to complete the required number of credits per semester.
• Third-year students in the summer semester sign up for optional subjects from the third year offer.
The subject of conversation (English, German, Russian, Spanish) – is included in all study programmes and fields of study. Therefore the following note applies to all.
Subject: English, German, Russian, and Spanish conversation is designed for:
1. Students who want to travel abroad (e.g. in terms of Erasmus programme); these students are to sign up for the subject for the term preceding the travel.
2. Students of the Bachelor’s studies who passed the exam from English language (regularly after completing four terms of English language lessons).
Students can sign up for the subject only once during their studies at FEI (Bachelor’s + Follow-up Master’s). The number of students who can sign up for this subject will be limited by the capacity given Department of Languages. Students travelling for a study stay abroad have always preference, and then students of follow-up Master’s studies. The lessons must be always arranged for individually at the Department of Languages.
Course Safety in Electrical Engineering 2 is designed for students who have taken the Safety in Electrical Engineering course 3 or more years ago.
