• A student who has passed all the registered subject, acquired 180 credits for their entire bachelor studies and handed in their bachelor thesis may sign up for the state final examination (SFE).
The final state examination includes:
- defense of bachelor thesis
- oral exam - two specialized subjects
The subject Assistive Technology guarantees knowledge especially in the field of medical technology and assistive technology devices.
The subject of Electrical Engineering and Informatics guarantees knowledge in the field of instrumentation application, measurement and processing of biomedical data.
The State Final Examination is held in front of the State Examination Board, which is appointed in accordance with the Study and Examination Regulations for Bachelor's Degree Programs at VŠB - TUO and is public. The duration of the state examination is 30 minutes.

• All students are required to enroll in Safety in Electrical Engineering, after verifying the knowledge, students are instructed within the meaning of § 4, Decree no. 50/1978 Sb. and can perform activities on electrical facilities in FEECS laboratories. The timetable of the subject Safety in Electrical Engineering will be made available on the web pages of the Faculty (www.fei.vsb.cz) at the beginning of September.
• During his studies, the students are required to enroll two social sciences. The first subject The basics of psychology and psychopathology is included in the study plan for the second year of the winter semester. The second subject The basics of working with a client in social services is included in the study plan for the second year of the summer semester.
• The checking of the study results takes place after the winter semester of the first year. To be able to continue with their studies in the summer semester, students must gain a minimum of 15 credits. Students who are repeating the first year must complete all the subjects of the winter semester of the first year of studies to be able to continue in the summer semester.
•The student needs at least 40 credits to pass into the second year.
• To complete the third year, all duties prescribed for the 1st year must be fulfilled and 40 credits from the 2nd year courses must be obtained.
• Detailed instructions for signing up subjects into the Student’s Personal Plan can be obtained from the field department or from the web pages of said department.
• All subjects, including optional ones, become binding on the day a student signs up for them.
• The field department is the Department of Cybernetics and Biomedical engineering.
• The lessons of the summer semester of the third year of study take place for only 10 weeks.
• In the third year of their studies students must complete the subject Bachelor’s Seminar 1 and 2 in one of following forms:
a) Processing of Topic from the Department
b) Processing of Topic from a Company
c) Practice in a Company
Excursions are part of the study plan.
The student enrolled in the first four semesters English language. The Biomedical Assistive Technology program has an advanced level of BTE. You can also choose the level - beginners. You must contact the Study Department.
• Students are obliged to complete two semesters of the subject Physical Exercise in the first year of their studies (Physical Exercise A and B). Students can select a particular sport from the list offered by the Department of Physical Education at the beginning of the semester. Other choices are up to students. The Department of Physical Education also offers students in all semesters and study years the possibility of completing an optional subject, Physical Education, and of attending one-week winter and summer physical exercise courses. The student must choose one of the types of professional practice. The choice reflects the student's personal choice with respect to his / her future employment. It also offers an alternative of professional practice where a student does not want to be qualified as a Social Services Worker under Act No. 108/2006 §116 Coll. and Decree 505/2006 §37, which requires practice in direct contact with clients in social services. An alternative is the practice of providers of purely technical solutions for social services. In case of choosing "Professional Practice in Social Services" the student is allowed to choose the subject "Comprehensive Examination for Social Services Worker".
These are supplementary vocational subjects that do not have a direct link to the SFE. Students must select from the courses offered by the group of Compulsory-Elective B (BAT-PVP) a number of courses to obtain at least 28 credits. The courses offered in this group are selected with regard to the intended application of the graduate, but this does not constitute specialization. The subjects of this group are therefore mainly offered in the 4th to 6th semesters of study.
Course Safety in Electrical Engineering 2 is designed for students who have taken the Safety in Electrical Engineering course 3 or more years ago.
