1. To describe the development and the state of the art of EU regional policy, its mechanisms and tools. 2. To explain the methodology and options of the use of European structural and investment funds and other instruments in the regional development and their application under the condition of the Czech Republic. 3. To apply the knowledge gained for the solution of issues of EU social and economic cohesion.

The aim is to familiarize students with the basic configuration and development of regional policy of the European Union and selected Member States. Students will be familiar with the mechanisms and instruments of EU Regional policy, the methodology and use of the European Structural and Investment Funds and other instruments in regional development and their application in the CR and will be prepared to solve problems within the issue of socio-economic cohesion (cohesion) of the European Union in the master's degree level.
