Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

After completing this subject, students will be able to understand and apply the following skills and topic areas: - selected topic areas from metal structures (crane tracks, design of joints, fatigue and brittle fracture of steel structures, stainless steels, class 4 cross sections, steel members exposed to torsion, three-dimensional buckling of steel members); - selected topic areas from timber structures (composite timber and concrete structures, timber bridges and footbridges, fatigue and brittle fracture of timber structures, strengthening of timber structures, defects and failures of timber structures).
