Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The aim is to deepen knowledge and skills in the design, implementation and assessment of the reliability of timber structures. Students must obtain and demonstrate a sufficient general overview of the issue. Students will also receive an individual project in relation to the focus of the dissertation.

Summary
Předmět poskytuje všeobecný přehled o materiálech dřevěných konstrukcí (dále jen DK), o stavu normalizace v oboru DK v Evropě, o metodách navrhování a posuzování spolehlivosti prvků a spojů DK. Pozornost je věnována problematice únavy, požární odolnosti a trvanlivosti DK a možného výskytu vad a poruch DK.
V rámci předmětu se studenti rovněž seznámí s hlavními typy dřevěných a dřevobetonových konstrukcí, včetně problematiky prostorového ztužení.
