Expertise: - orientation in basic concepts of graphics - basic knowledge of the historical tradition and current trends in the field - basic knowledge of professional terminology in creating graphic outputs - basic orientation in classical and new technologies - means in graphics - orientation in basic literature related to graphics - basic knowledge of aesthetic concepts, cultural-historical context, technical procedures - Understanding the contemporary and timeless artistic value of selected works of art Professional skills: - Ability to work with basic literature - the ability to create a strategy and a schedule for processing a given topic - a task - ability to analyze a given topic for implementation in graphics, create a processing strategy and implement it - the ability to use creatively the knowledge and stimuli presented in the lectures - ability of orientation and basic creation in the field of digital graphics - ability to process historical context to given artistic task - communication, interaction and creative competence

Summary

Introduction to basic concepts of graphics. Basic means of expression, forms of use, historical context. Printing forms from classical to digital technology. Basic division of graphics into free and used. Typical elements in graphic design, examples of their use in individual authors, historical context. Aspects in creating graphics related to working with light, color, scale and proportions. Examples of concrete examples. Typography basics and typography principles. Poster design and simple prints. Computer graphics, basic principles of work and their outputs in the form of digital media. Students will be acquainted with individual areas of graphics not only theoretically in the form of lectures, but also on the practical tasks assigned within the exercise. Interconnection of theoretical knowledge with practical skills in solving a specific graphic problem in the form of classical methods of work (drawing, collage, simple printing techniques) further towards the use of digital technologies, both for project creation and subsequent final output.
