Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

1. To identify and describe the major determinants of EU cohesion policy, programming process and development of programming documents for EU Structural funds in economic development of the regions in the European Union. 2. To explain the methodology and the system of programming documents for regional development management, types of the EU Funds interventions and methodology of programming logics and their validation on the practical issues. 3. To apply the knowledge gained for the solution of issues of the EU Cohesion Policy in the Czech Republic during programming period 2021-2027.

Summary

The aim of the course is to introduce students to the major determinants and principles of EU Cohesion Policy, the programming process of structural aid in the economic development of the regions in the European Union. The main focus will be laid on the system and content of programming documents for regional development management with using of EU Funds, on the methodology of preparation of regional and local development programming documents from the viewpoint of theory, and verification on practical examples and case studies. Emphasis is placed on specific EU Funds programming documents in the Czech Republic in the current programming period and procedures for claiming financial assistance for projects co-financed by EU Funds.
