227-0216 – Rail Transport in Towns (KDM)
Gurantor department | Department of Transport Constructions |
Subject guarantor | Ing. Leopold Hudeček, Ph.D. |
Study level | undergraduate or graduate |
Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The aim of this course is to acquaint students with problems of rail transport in the cities and to practice the acquired knowledge and skills.
Students will acquire basic knowledge in the design, implementation, diagnostics buildings for rail transportation in the cities. Graduating student is able to describe and solve basic problems such as routing, rail track construction, design foundation, proposals related small structures (eg, drainage construction, station, etc., measures to reduce noise and vibration). The student acquires the skill to formulate problems, to form a basic proposed solution applying knowledge and skills to solve simple problems from the buildings of rail transport in the cities.

Summary
To ensure transportation needs in large cities use different rail transport systems. Subject Rail transport in the cities deals with the use of railway facilities for public transport. The content of teaching is the historical development of unconventional and rail transport, building the technical characteristics of transport (elements of the track and related objects), principles of design and construction of track and facilities tramway traffic, urban high-speed, metro, suburban railway building, unconventional transport (Maglev etc.. ).
