Summary

This course is designed to help the first-year students improve their understanding of fundamental principles of physics. After the introduction of the scientific approach to understanding nature, the role of measurement and basic units, it is mainly focused on the topics of mechanics of particle-like bodies, statics of rigid bodies and simple mechanics of fluids. The significance of conservation laws in physics is pointed out.
