Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

- Outline the internal structure of structural materials on different scale ranges; - Describe the basic properties of structural materials; - Clarify relationships between internal structure and properties of structural materials; - Describe principal characteristics, advantages and drawbacks, of four groups of structural materials – metallic materials, polymers, ceramics and composites; - Compare advantages and disadvantages of each group of structural materials.
