Teaching methods
Summary
General survey of physical metallurgy. Transformations. Characteristics of
grain boundaries and interfaces. Diffusion, recrystallisation, phase
transformations, grain growth and precipitate growth. Segregation at grain
boundaries and brittle intergranular fracture. Strenghtening mechanism.
Applications and modelling of physical metallurgy laws on some materials.
