Goals:
1. Common introduction to quality management
2. Clarification of quality management systems principles in accordance with international standars
3. TQM principles clarification
4. To teach process thinking and management
5. Take control of simple quality tools for process maping and analysis.
6. Take control of simple quality tools for quality analysis and customer satisfaction evaluation
7. Introduction to economic aspects of quality

Summary
The module is introduction to the quality management topics. The understanding
the quality, the customers and society requirements on quality and economic
aspects of quality are explained. The factors that influence the quality are
discussed. The leagal frame for the quality assurance and quality
documentation is a significant part of the module. The introduction to the
quality systems and also the training of the simple statistic tools for the
quality measurement and analysis are included.

Subject syllabus:
1.Basic concepts and definitions - quality, customer satisfaction.
2.International system standards - ISO 9000, 9001, 9004, ISO / TS 16949, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, ISO 19011.
3.The main principles of quality management. Audits, certification.
4.Quality planning - implementation of the product in the design and development of product and process.
5.QFD as a main method for quality planning.
6.Production and service provision.
7.Purchasing, quality control.
8.Simple tools (data collection and recording of data, Pareto diagram, Ishikawa diagram, etc.).
9.Processes - variability, MSA, analysis using simple tools.
10.Continuous improvement - Advanced quality techniques. Introduction to Six Sigma.
11.Economic aspects of quality - quality costs - the costs of prevention, control, failure. Loss function.
12.External influences on quality - consumer protection from unsafe products, technical standardization, metrology, national supervisory authorities.
