The aim of the subject Building Construction II. is to manage the issue of ceiling constructions, overhanging constructions - balconies, loggie, oriels, galleries, cornices, awnings, sun blinds and constructions connecting the floors - staircases, ramps, ladders, steps and elevators.

The subject Building Constructions II. follows the subject Building Constructions I. The subject covers the basic constructional parts of buildings such as foundations, vertical supporting constructions, roofs, ceiling constructions and overhanging constructions - balconies, loggie, oriels, galleries, cornices, awnings, sun blinds and constructions connecting the floors - staircases, ramps, ladders, steps and elevators. The students will gain detailed knowledge about the issue of floor constructions and about the structural design of contraction joints.

Other requirements
At least 70% attendance at the exercises. Absence, up to a maximum of 30%, must be excused
and the apology must be accepted by the teacher (the teacher decides to recognize the reason
for the excuse). Tasks assigned on the exercises must be hand in within the dates set by the
teacher.
Requirements for the student in the case of an individual study plan: At least 50% participation in exercises, submission of all required programs, writing of the test.

Syllabus of lecture:
1. Ceiling constructions. Requirements for the ceiling constructions - static, thermal technical, acoustic, firefighting. Division of ceilings.
2. Ceiling constructions. Wooden ceilings: Division. Butt ceiling. Joist ceilings with visible beams - simple joist ceiling, simple joist ceiling with fill, coffered ceiling, ceiling with straw ropes, modern ceiling constructions with visible beams.
3. Ceiling constructions. Wooden ceilings: Joist ceilings with flush soffit - joist ceiling with mortared soffit and fill, joist ceiling with embedded decking, joist ceiling with little beams supporting the soffit, modern ceiling constructions with flush soffit.
4. Ceiling constructions. Wooden ceilings: Plank ceilings. Ceilings from glued, nailed, lattice, reinforced and pretension beams.
5. Ceiling constructions. Reinforced concrete ceilings. Division. Monolithic reinforced concrete ceilings - beamless, joist, hollow-block, glass-concrete.
6. Ceiling constructions. Reinforced concrete ceilings. Precast reinforced concrete ceilings - from reinforced concrete beams, from reinforced concrete panels, mushroom.
7. Ceiling constructions. Precast ceilings from panels from prestressed concrete. Precast-monolithic reinforced concrete ceilings.

13. Floors: Division of floors. Requirements for floors. Solid and folded floors. Wooden floors. Cork floors.
14. Floors: Paving. Dabs and screed floor covers. Floor coatings.
15. Contraction joints: Principles of structural design of contraction joints.

3. Wooden ceilings: Joist ceilings with flush soffit - composition design, solution of details.
4. Wooden ceilings: Plank ceilings, ceilings from glued, nailed, lattice, reinforced and pretension beams.
5. Reinforced concrete ceilings: Drawing of shape of monolithic reinforced concrete ceilings.
6. Reinforced concrete ceilings. Drawing of composition of precast reinforced concrete ceilings.
7. Solution of details in monolithic and precast reinforced concrete ceilings.
