Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
- to clarify development of the European Union with emphasis to the labour markets
- to compare the models of labour markets in the EU members
- to identify differences between EU labour markets and other countries
- to dramatise the transfer from the pasive to the active labour market policy and other changes in the structure of labour market
Teaching methods
Lectures
Summary
The course provides detail knowledge on labour markets in European union and in selected EU countries, the evolution of labour market integration process in EU from the beginning of 90-ties and the contemporary development trends. Executive summary of the political and economic context of implementation of Employment Guidelines is involved. Deep comparisons of labour market models of EU countries and also with other developed countries are provided together with assessment of performances and policies per selected member states - impact evaluation of the European Employment Strategy.
