          Teach a  students the basic procedures for solving of ground technical problems from fracture of cracked members and fatigue of materials. Ensure understanding of teaching problems. To learn the students if they can apply gained theoretical peaces of knowledge in praxis.

            Subject syllabus:
          
          1.	Initiators of bodies fracture. Constructionals notches.
2.	Notched members. Neuber´s rule.
3.	Cracks. Modes of fracture. Stress intensity factor.
4.	Fracture of steels bodies. Definition. Tension test and other basic test.
5.	Linear elastic fracture mechanics.
6.	Elastic-plastic fracture mechanics.
7.	Two parametric fracture mechanics. R-6 method.
8.	Dynamics fracture mechanics. Temperature transition behaviour of steels.
9.	Fatigue of materials. High cycle fatigue and low cycle fatigue.
10.	Fatigue and life prediction.
11.	Fatigue crack growth equation.
12.	Irregular strain versus time histories. Life estimates.
