Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
After completing the course, the student will understand the impact of human factors (HF) reliability on the risk system safety, will be able to distinguish priorities and use tools to increase operational safety, after further training also work in the field of the company or the government safety management system.

The Human Factor (HF) course is designed primarily to help students understand the role of man in a man-made system. It consists not only of the technological part (technical factor), but also of the people who design, operate and maintain the system (human factor).
After a long period of development of man-made systems, in the event of their failure, only the reliability (safety) of technologies was addressed, while human performance and reliability were addressed only marginally. This course aims to introduce students to the importance of human factor and failure of human resources in terms of efficiency and especially the safety of man-made systems, where direct failure of human factor currently contributes to about the causes of system failure (incidents, accidents). As part of the study of this course, students will gain knowledge about important aspects of human performance and reliability, the main sources of human failure and especially measures that can permanently reduce the risk of human failure to an acceptable level due to the expected consequences.

1. Introduction to the issue of human factor (HF) reliability
2. Basic concepts in the field of safety and human factor
3. Basic graphical models of HF (SHELL model, REASON model)
4. HF performance versus reliability (safety) of risk systems
5. Basic human psychophysiological parameters influencing the reliability of HF
6. Influence of stress and load on reducing the reliability of HF
7. The effect of lack of sleep and fatigue on reducing the reliability of HF
8. The influence of human errors and professional indiscipline on reducing the reliability of HF
9. The influence of the recruitment and personal assumptions of the operator on reducing the reliability of the HF
10. Influence of organizational factor failure on reducing the reliability of HF
11. Possibilities in the field of selection and training of operators to increase the reliability of HF
12. Possibilities in the field of stress and fatigue management to increase the reliability of HF
13. Possibilities of modern ways of human resources management to increase the reliability of HF
14. Final evaluation of the influence of LC reliability on the reliability of systems and possible measures to reduce its failure
