Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
After completing this subject, the student should be able to apply his/her knowledge to solving of building ventilation. Furthermore, to analyze the setting of the site, to identify the requirements on the quantity and quality of ventilation, and to determine appropriate method and technical means of ventilation. Subsequently, to integrate gained conclusions and to develop and design a proper ventilation system. Finaly, to evaluate the ventilation project from the point of view of its practical implementation.

Summary
The subject gives the students information on basic knowledge of the air-flow theory and their practical applicfations. Explained topics:
Atmospheric environment suitable for human beings, harmful substances in atmosphere, physiological and hygienic grounds, thermal comfort.
Natural and forced draught ventilation, systems of ventilation of buildings, pressure distribution in buildings, infiltration, aeration, shaft ventilation.
Pressure conditions in airducts, aerodynamic calculations of airducts, transformation of air resistances.
Iteration methods of ventilation networks solving.
Fans, their characteristics, joint action of fans.
Local ventilation, ventilation with forced outtake.
Ventilation of public and residential buldings.
Ventilation of industrial and agricultural buildings.
Ventilation of tunnels. Smoke and heat control.
