Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
By completing the course students acquire basic knowledge of reliability theory. Student understands the importance of evaluating the reliability of safety systems and the reliability of human operators in man-machine relation. Student can analyse and evaluate safety systems in terms of reliability and propose appropriate remedial measures.

Fundamentals of theory of reliability, numeric characteristics of reliability,
their significance and determination. Failure categorisation, system
reliability calculation. Requirements for safety system reliability, methods of
reliability increasing. Human factor and its reliability, man-machine relation.
