Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Theoretical introduction of students to basic terminology and structural principles of building constructions. Clarification of the legislative framework and types of building documentation in the construction process. Building constructions, their importance and function. Emphasis on constructions and their modifications related to building safety and work safety. Applied materials and their properties. Representation of building structures in project documentation. Orientation in building drawings.

Summary
Conception of designing and operating structures of buildings with complex consideration of functional requirements placed on individual elements. Requirements for civil engineering, structural system and spatial effect of structural system. Base constructions. Vertical supporting structures. Ceiling construction. Staircases, ramps, ladders, lift shafts. Chimneys and ventilation vents. Roof Cladding. Basic overview of selected assembly structures (building envelope, floors, ceilings and finishes).

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester
The achieved knowledge will be verified by the elaboration of a semester project and its successful defense. The final verification of the study results is a summary of the fulfilment of the requirements for the credit and a final test.
