Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

At high automation of control processes it is expected that the university graduate has not only the special knowledge of the field studied but also the capability to understand computer technology; he/she is expected to know what are the fields which computer technology is necessary and predominant for. On the basis of this knowledge, the student must acquire, in the framework of study, basic information about how to solve and apply this knowledge in practical use in the frame of study and further professional specialisation.

Summary

The course is designed to provide the general knowledge of computing machinery and commonly used software. After completing, the student is able to meet requirements concerning documentation preparation necessary for the next study.

Operating systems in the past and in the present (MS-DOS, WIN3.10, 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP) 6. Organisation of files and folders in a computer 7. Command line, basic commands, Windows operating screen 8. MS WORD a. document creation basics b. toolbars c. insertion of objects – image, table d. heading, footing, comments e. bookmarks, references, lists f. hypertext references g. document format 9. MS EXCEL a. document creation basics b. toolbars c. insertion of objects – graph, image, text d. insertion of formulae e. comments and references f. final preparation of document for print 10. MS ACCESS a. database theory b. SQL Servers c. simple database creation d. form 11.
