Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The main point of the subject is to introduce basic terminology, principles and way of use of chosen fire protection technical equipment. It covers the field of basic fire protection armatures, breathing apparatuses, detectors, protective clothes, fire tracks, fire-fighting aircrafts, fire pumps and fire extinguishers.

Summary

Students will get an overview of basic terminology, principles and way of use of chosen technical eyuipment of fire protection. All topics will be presented by spoken word with a support of electronic presentation, illustrative pictures and videos. Spoken presentation will also be completed by original fire protection technical equipment exhibits.

Subject syllabus:

1. Fire-fighting armatures – suction part and delivery part. 2. Breathing apparatuses – air. 3. Breathing apparatuses – oxygen. 4. Dettection eyuipment and monitoring. 5. Protective clothing – basics. Personal protective equipment firefighters. 6. Protective clothing – chemical protective clothes and its testing. 7. Clothing against radiant heat. 8. Fire-fighting tracks. 9. Fire-finghting Air Service of Fire and Resque Service of the Czech Republic. 10. Fire pumps. 11. Fire extinguishers. 12. Manufacturing corporation visits.
