Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The subject is one of special subjects focused on obtaining the basic abilities and organizational skills necessary for coping with natural crisis situations and mastering the methods of prevention of these crisis situations. It provides basic information about the origin of the Earth and a possibility of occurrence of natural disasters. It develops students’ abilities to understand and define basic endogenous and exogenous processes, to classify and define natural disasters and to handle the basic principles of protection against natural disasters.

Summary

Předmět přírodní katastrofy seznamuje studenty s přírodními procesy, které jsou normálními endogenními i exogenními geologickými pochody, které se na Zemi odehrávaly od jejího samotného začátku, avšak až v souvislosti s lidskou populací je na ně pohlíženo z hlediska počtu obětí a škod. Zabývá se popisem vzniku zemětřesení a svahových pohybů, základním rozdělením těchto jevů a principy ochrany před nimi. Popisuje extrémní meteorologické jevy, povodně, záplavy, pojednává o zimních klimatických podmínkách. Seznamuje se základními způsoby lokalizace a likvidace přírodních požárů. Popisuje klimatické změny a krize jimi vyvolané. Řeší vzájemné ovlivňování přírodních a technologických katastrof. Zmiňuje prevenci přírodních katastrof, snižování a řešení následků, možnosti snižování rizik vedoucí k odolnosti a s tím související posílení připravenosti na katastrofy.
