Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the issue of Fire Safety Equipment (FSE), their classification, function and benefits for fire safety of buildings. Students will gain knowledge of the requirements for the design, installation, operation and control of FSE operability. Based on an understanding of the function of individual components of FDAS and other FSE, students will be able to define the requirements for FSE within the processing of fire safety solutions for buildings. They can process parts of FDAS project documentation. They will be able to assess the use of individual FSE to ensure fire safety of buildings.

Summary
The course introduces the principles of Fire Safety Equipment and the principles of early detection of fire and fire-hazardous situations and leak detection of combustible and toxic gases and vapours, the principles of operation of various fire detectors and entire FDAS systems. The issue of effective security of fire detection in various areas using FDAS is discussed. Dedicated Fire Safety Equipment (FSE), their functions and cooperation. Integration of FSE into fire safety of buildings and technologies. Use of FSE in complexes of road and highway tunnels.
