Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the course is to teach students to identify hazards and risks in the place of fire, evaluate their impact on the safety of fire protection units. Based on this evaluation, the student is able to choose the procedure and tactics of intervention. Based on the above evaluations, the student is able to quantify the forces and resources for firefighting and rescue of people, animals and property.

Summary

TThe course describes the procedures of fire extinguishing based on the knowledge of fire parameters and fire dynamics in enclosed spaces of buildings and in the open area. Describes and explains the characteristic hazards and specific requirements associated with fires in specific areas of buildings. The teaching emphasizes the expansion of the student's ability to quantify the mounth of fire brigades in real time in fire site without tabulated values of the recommended intensities of fire extinguisher supply, which are not available in the conditions of the real fire.
