Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Students understand the function and importance of fire safety systems and safety systems for buildings and propose the use of selected fire safety equipments to increase fire safety of buildings. Student is able to propose the use of security systems for buildings and evaluate the coordination of security systems and fire safety systems in the building.

Summary

Fire safety equipment (FSE), its importance and categorisation. Inclusion of FSE into fire safety of structures and technologies. Principles of timely fire detection, systems of FDA. Fixed extinguishing systems, systems for smoke, heat and combustion product exhaustion. Systems for detection of releases of combustible and toxic gases and vapours. Alarm systems.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Computation and testing. Offsetting consists of the following sections. TEST 1 - max. 10 points (Verification of mastery of basic knowledge of the substance in the range of lectures delivered). TEST 2 - max. 10 points (Verification of mastery of basic knowledge of the substance in the range of lectures delivered). Semester work - max. 5 points (Work focused on the subject and its presentation). Production of EPS or PZTS technical report - max. 10 points (Drawing up of technical report and subsequent defence in consultation). The test consists of the sections below. TEST - max. 30 points (Verification of mastery of basic knowledge of probed substance). ORAL PART - max. 35 points (Discussion of the subject matter within the scope of the test thematic headings).

Conditions for subject completion and attendance at the exercises within ISP: The student must take two credit tests on dates agreed with the teacher. The student must prepare and submit a credit work prepared from professional literature in English focused on the topic of the studied subject by the credit week. The minimum scope of the text part of the thesis must be 5 standard pages. The formal preparation of the thesis must correspond to the requirements for the preparation of a bachelor's thesis.
