Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The aim of the subject is clarify the basic requirements for fire safety of buildings in terms of location, layout, design and materials. The subject makes the student familiar with passive and also active elements of fire safety in structures.

By teaching the course, students will understand the importance and function of building structures and then apply the technical requirements for fire protection of buildings. They analyze the conditions of evacuation, the possibility of the spread of fire in the building and the surrounding area, apply the requirements for fire intervention, or. apply elements of active fire protection, ie, fire safety equipment aimed at the protection of persons, animals and property with an emphasis on ensuring the conditions for successful fire intervention.

Subject syllabus:
1. Úvod do dynamiky požáru - rychlost uvolňování tepla, průběh požáru
2. Úvod do dynamiky požáru - výměna plynů při požáru, podstropní proudění, vrstva kouře
3. Úvod do dynamiky požáru - sdílení tepla, teplota plynů uvnitř hořícího prostoru
4. Koncepce požární bezpečnosti staveb, ekonomika požární ochrany
5. Pasivní požární ochrana - zásady požární bezpečnosti staveb, navrhování požární ochrany, požární riziko
6. Pasivní požární ochrana - materiály a stavební konstrukce a jejich hodnocení z pohledu požární ochrany
7. Pasivní požární ochrana - principy navrhování stavebních konstrukcí vystavené účinkům požáru
8. Aktivní požární ochrana - automatická detekce požáru, poplachové systémy
9. Aktivní požární ochrana - zařízení pro potlačení požáru (stabilní hasicí zařízení aj.)
10. Aktivní požární ochrana - zařízení pro odvod kouře a tepla
11. Aktivní požární ochrana - ostatní zařízení a opatření pro protipožární zásah
12. Chování osob při požáru - zajištění bezpečnosti osob v objektu, zařízení pro únik osob
