Cílem exkurze je úvodní seznámení studentů s vybranými institucemi působícími v oblasti požární ochrany a bezpečnosti jak v oblasti vědy a výzkumu, zkušebnictví, či přímého zajišťování požární ochrany (např. Technický ústav požární ochrany, HZS ČR apod.).
