Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the course is to learn to use the knowledge of fire engineering to predict the development of fire in enclosed spaces and calculate the amount of heat and smoke released during combustion based on mathematical modeling of the process of heat generation and flame spread. Acquire ways of interpreting the results obtained by mathematical modeling. Practically apply software tools for modeling the fire situation (zone models or field type models) in solving fire safety of buildings.

Summary

The course is focused on the basics of mathematical modeling of fire in an enclosed space. The student will get acquainted with the principles of fire modeling and will learn to operate and interpret the results of selected software for fire modeling.
