Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The aim of the course is to obtain basic information about the causes and occurrence of natural disasters and their manifestations. Emphasis will be placed on knowledge and skills in the areas of natural disaster prevention, mitigation and resolution, rescue logistics and restoration of the affected area.

Summary
The course is focused on deepening knowledge in the field of natural disasters and the interaction of natural technological disasters. Emphasis is placed on understanding the basic ways of dealing with the consequences of natural disasters on the state's infrastructure, reducing the consequences of natural crisis phenomena and their prevention. Part of the course is also acquaintance with the organization and logistics of rescue work. Emphasis is placed on cooperation and co-operation of crisis management bodies with experts in individual engineering disciplines.

History of Natural Disasters. Environmental Hazards (Case studies). Earthquakes, Landslides, Soliflucations. Extreme Weather Phenomena. Winter Climatic Conditions and Phenomena. Forest and Natural Fires. Climate Change and the Crises caused by them. Interaction of Natural and Technological Disasters.
Prevention of Natural Disasters, Mitigation and Resolution of Natural Crises. Logistics of Rescue Operations and Restoration of affected Areas.
