The aim of the subject is clarify the basic requirements for fire safety of buildings in terms of location, layout, design and materials. The subject makes the student familiar with passive and also active elements of fire safety in structures. The students can integrate acquired knowledge in working experience.

Introduction to Fire Dynamics Building Construction (Evaluation building construction, Building codes, Selection of building materials and constructions, Eurocodes) Fire Safety Concept, Performance-Based and Prescriptive Fire Protection Design, Economic of Fire Protection • Fire Protection in Buildings (Ensuring effective fire protection, Managing fire safety, Designing the building structures, Access and facilities for fire-fighting, Managing occupied buildings) Alarm and Detection Systems Fire Control Systems (Fire Extinguishment etc.) Introduction to Fire and Evacuation Modelling
