Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the course is to inform students complex and comprehensively about the importance and method of prevention and preparedness for major accidents in terms of safety.

Summary

The course includes an explanation of the importance and method of prevention and preparedness for major accidents in the Czech Republic and the EU,provides an overview of recommended methods for risk assessment using practical examples and introduces students to the principles of emergency planning.

Estimation of probability and frequency of accidents (FTA, ETA) 6. Assessment of the consequences of accidents (ALOHA) 7. Asset Impact Assessment Methods (FEI) 8. Environmental Impact Assessment Methods (H&V Index Method) 9. Overview of preventive safety measures to prevent accidents 10. Internal emergency plan 11. Emergency Planning Zone, External Emergency Plan 12. Emergency preparedness exercises 13. Excursion
