Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
The aim of this course is to clearly and comprehensively inform students about the meaning, definition and components of environment and their protection from the safety point of view.

The course focuses on the explanation of the basic concepts for studying the negative impacts to the environment (accident, pollution), legislation in the area of environmental protection (SEA, EIA, IPPC, and others), environmental management (ISO 14 000) and methods for the environmental impact assessment caused by accidents.

4. Soil and Nature protection and pollution.
5. Waste protection and pollution.
6. Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA, SEA).
7. Integrated Prevention and Pollution Control (IPPC).
8. Environmental management system (EMS).
9. Safety Management System according to SEVESO Directive.
10. Environmental Impact Assessment caused by major accidents.
11. Methodology - H&V index and Environment Accident Index. Case study.
12. Firefighting waters and their ecotoxicity.
13. Excursion – Waste water treatment, Hazardous waste incinerator.
