Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Student, after the course, understands biological risks in the sense of REACH an CLP Directives, will be able to work with concepts of acute toxicity, corrosivity, irritant properties, carcinogeneity, mutageneity, reproductive toxicity, sensibilization, ecotoxicity. She/he understands the relation dose/effect, the metric of dose under different conditions and will be able to find toxicological data of toxic substances.

Subject syllabus:
Toxicology as a scientific discipline and management system. Compounds dangerous for human
health and their impacts: system toxicity, cancerogenity, mutageneicity,
reproduction toxicity, teratogenity, corrosivity, irritant properties,
environmental toxicity and other effects (endocrine disruptors, allergens,
sensibilitation). Dose - response dependens, limits of dangerous compouns in
working and living environment, risk assessment, information sources concerning
industrially used chemicals
