Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the science of danger (cyndinikou) as a science. The following categories will be examined: Basic concepts of safety and dangers, different types of risks, their perception and management, development of content meaning of these concepts over time, socio-cultural, socio-economic and natural context. Ethics of danger and its coping. Doctrine of Danger as multidisciplinary science, different degrees and causes of complexity of security. Systematic and system approach to security solutions, general rules of tools and methods of study, focusing on physical and chemical disciplines. The relationship of scientific disciplines in a complex concept of safety, the importance of physical and chemical sciences for risk understanding and coping.
