Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Definition of toxicology, its distribution. Substances which are harmful to health and their effects. Systemic toxicity, carcinogenicity, mutagenicity, reproductive toxicity, teratogenicity, corrosivity, irritability, sensitization, endocrine disruptors. The paths of entry of poison into the organism and its fate in it. Toxicokinetics. Dose-effect relationship. Exposure tests. Calculation of toxicological risk. ERAQ-SAR. Acute, subchronic and chronic toxicity. Toxicology and epidemiological studies. Toxicity limits, methods of obtaining them. Toxicological databases, their validity and availability. Occupational toxicology, chronic toxic effects. Acute toxicology and toxicology of disasters. Poison classification, EINECS and GHS, relationship to REACH. Physical-chemical methods of determination of toxicants in the environment, sensors.
