Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Hazardous Properties of Chemicals and Mixtures. Flammability, explosiveness, oxidation ability, toxicity, radioactivity. Incompatibility of chemicals, "runaway" reactions. Methods of testing dangerous properties, their strengths and weaknesses. Interpretation of test results with regard to safety in use, transport and storage. Management of dangerous substances in the company and transport. Marking NL in the context of the Czech Republic, Europe and the world. Legislation in the Czech Republic, Europe and the world.

Summary

Předmět se vztahuje na nebezpečné vlastnosti chemických látek a směsí mezi které patří např. hořlavost, výbušnost, oxidační schopnosti, toxicita, radioaktivita apod. Po absolvování předmětu student má přehled o metodách testování nebezpečných vlastností chemických látek. Interpretace výsledků testování s ohledem na bezpečnost při používání, dopravě a skladování. Rozumí managementu nebezpečných látek v podniku a při dopravě, značení NL v kontextu ČR, Evropy a světa.

Introduction into Management of chemicals (MCHL). Basic principles and tools of MCHL. International organisations and conventions; Stakeholders. Life cycle of chemicals. Hazardous properties of chemicals. Classiffication of dangerous substances and mixtures, Global Harmonised System. Health risk assessment. Environmental risk assessment. Risk management. MCHL in the industry. Transport of dangerous substances (ADR, RID). Dangerous properties of waste. Classification of hazardous waste. Management and transportation of hazardous waste.
