Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

To learn students to take samples of chosen dangerous substances, their identification, to determine their hazardous properties, to determine possible risks and the reaction of the rescue system to them.

Summary

The students learn basic rules how to take the samples of contaminated dangerous substances, eventually the gas hazardous substances to examine their properties in the laboratory. The education is drawn as the subsidiary information resource for the staff of the solution of extraordinary events during the interventions with escaping of hazardous substances. The part of the practice is also the assessment and recommendation how to liquidate hazardous substances, eventually to state protective provisions for population and intervening components of the Integrated Rescue System.

Subject syllabus:

Basic quantities and units used in crisis Meteorological minimum for leaks of hazardous substances Identification systems, hazardous substances Information support in dealing with emergency situations - Case Study Ignition sources of emergency events Determine the extent of toxic cloud in the continuous release of certain dangerous substances program ROZEX Determination of carbon monoxide and dioxide evolved during combustion of different types of solids and liquids Determination of water absorption and effectiveness of soil captured escaped liquids (diesel, gasoline) through different types of sorbents Processing Checklist (Check List Analysis) in the event of an accident Determination of evaporation of flammable liquids Testing toxic gases and vapors Liquidation of the accident outpouring of sulfuric acid on the road. Proposed measures and their implementation.
