Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Students should in this course to gain an overview of the legislation relating to the safety of persons and property in relation to the underlying disciplines taught at the Faculty of Safety Engineering.

In the course are discussed fundamental dimension of physical security and related legislation.

Subject syllabus:
1) Theoretical definition of the subject. Legal basis.
2) Security theory - crisis theory, risks, models.
3) Administrative security - handling of non-public / classified information. Prevention of illegal actions in the company. Legal basis.
4) Immunity, aberrations, abolitions and their applications in physical security.
5) International security - migration, demographic pressures and collapses.
6) Weakening and disintegration of the state as a security threat.
7) Connection of humanities and social sciences with technical sciences in physical security.
8) Public - administrative and legal aspects of security services. Ethical principles in physical security.
9) Issues of semi-quantitative assessment in physical security.
10) Personal and human security - definition of dimensions, reasons for aggression, measures and trends.
11) Raw material and energy security - changes in the world market, competition for raw materials, the European aspect of raw material security, risks of raw material and energy security,
12) Interruption of electricity supply, either due to a power plant failure or due to a transmission system failure.
