Summary

The aim of the course is to expand the knowledge of the basic course of physics by specific knowledge that students can use in their field. These are the properties of real gases and vapors, heat dissipation, ionizing radiation and its biological effects including the goals and principles of radiation protection. Furthermore, students are acquainted with the basic principles of measuring some physical quantities and an overview of spectroscopic methods used in safety engineering.

1. Molecular physics and thermodynamics - kinetic theory of ideal gas 2. Real gases and vapours 3. Mixtures of gases, moist air 4. Heat sharing 5. Kinetic theory of liquids 6. Properties of solids, deformation 7. Conduction of electric current in liquids and gases and semiconductors 8. Conduction of electric current in semiconductors 9. Optical systems 10. Acoustics and ultrasound 11. Theory of measurement and experiment 12. Ionizing radiation, sources, properties, detection 13. Dosimetry and radiation protection, non-ionising radiation, properties and detection
