Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Knowledge of basic concepts of ionizing radiation and radiation protection. Understanding of the objectives and principles of radiation protection.
Application of theoretical knowledge to solve practical problems in the field of radiation protection.

Summary
The course introduces students to the issue of protection against ionizing radiation. The first part is devoted to basic information about ionizing radiation sources, natural and artificial radioactivity, dosimetric quantities and their units. The main part deals with the principles and methods of radiation protection, detectors of ionizing radiation. The conclusion is devoted to the use of radionuclides in practice.
