Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences
Learning outcomes of the course unit The subject acquaints with the technical means of protection, their classification, functions, technical properties, breakthrough resistance, degree of security and safety classes, including their certification, with technical standards regulating the problems of mechanical barriers, their importance for ensuring perimetric, and subject-matter protection and their current development trends in the EU and the world. Emphasis is placed on the interconnection of mechanical barrier systems with other elements of physical protection, with modern technologies, but also on their indispensable place in the integrated security system.

Summary
The aim of the subject is to provide students with barrier systems in connection with the technical protection. With their classification, functions, technical properties, breakthrough resistance, safety degrees and resistance classes, including their certification. Also with technical standards of mechanical barrier systems, their importance for ensuring physical protection and their current development trends in the EU and the world. Emphasis is placed on the interconnection of mechanical barrier systems with other elements of physical protection, with modern technologies, but also on their indispensable place in the integrated security system.
