Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

Objective of the course in terms of learning outcomes and competences The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the different types and principles of technical means of security services, security inspections of persons and objects in industry and transport, detection, documentation, observation and search technology. Security threats from CBRNE substances, their characteristics, detection and detector types. Use of animals to detect dangerous substances. Technical means of security protection in the organization and especially in air transport. Biometric methods of detection, profiling. Technical means of road safety oversight. Enforcement, material means and their use. Evacuation and non-lethal technical means of the crowd, technical means of searching people in objects, on the ground, underground and underwater, means of observation under difficult conditions - noktovizory, milivizory, termovizory. Security inspections of persons and objects.

Summary

Learning outcomes of the course unit The course introduces students to individual types and principles of technical means of security services, security inspections of persons and objects in industry and transport, detection, documentation, observation and search technology. Students will also be informed about the method of securing goods in retail chains and individual industry segments.

Way of continuous check of knowledge in the course of semester

Submitting written assignments given by the supervisor in the prescribed form, passing the written tests on lectures. Participation in exercises 80%, absences apologize in advance.

Subject syllabus:

Threats of biological, chemical, radiation, nuclear and explosive substances, their characteristics. 2. Improvised explosive systems. Lure systems, letter bombs and biologically harmful packages, Molotov cocktail. 3. Detection of explosive systems, weapons and drugs. X-rays, detection frames, hand-held detectors. 4. Detection of biological substances. Types of substances and detection techniques. 5. Chemical detection. Types of substances and detection techniques 6. Detection of radioactive substances. Types of substances and detection techniques 7. Improvised means of population protection and rescue units. 8. Crowd regulation. Non-lethal means to direct the crowd. 9. Technical means of personal protection of the citizen, optical means, stun guns, acoustic means, tear means. 10. Biometrics and its use for individual identification of persons, theory, error rate. 11. Biometric technologies and specific methods of individual identification, verification of persons. 12. Technical means and methods for searching objects on the ground, underground and underwater. 13. Apparatus for observation at night and under low light conditions.
