Subject aims expressed by acquired skills and competences

- argue and assess the contribution of the particular economic ideas to development of economics -recognise and formulate the distinctions between the Neoclassical School and the Keynesian School - conclude the consequences of crisis of the Keynesian theory in seventies of twenty century and explain the arise of contemporary theories - formulate the basic differences of nonmainstream economic theories - identify the characteristics of the Czech economic thought

Teaching methods

Summary

The course introduces students to the development of the main directions and particular schools of economic thinking. It compares theoretical approaches to the chosen economic issues within the framework of various conceptions of economic theory. Futhermore, it provides an insight into the development of ideas concerning the history of economic thinking.

1. Přehled vývoje ekonomického myšlení do 20. století. - ekonomické učení starověku a středověku - merkantilismus - fyziokraté - klasická škola ekonomie 2. Neoklasická ekonomie I. - vznik a charakteristické rysy neoklasické ekonomie - teorie mezního užitku v pojetí rakouské subjektivně psychologické školy 3. Neoklasická ekonomie II. - teorie dílčí rovnováhy v díle Alfreda Marshalla - model všeobecné ekonomické rovnováhy Leona Walrase 4. Teorie nedokonalé a monopolistické konkurence. - teorie nedokonalé konkurence v pojetí J. Robinsonové - teorie monopolistické konkurence v pojetí E. Chamberlina 5. Makroekonomický přístup švédské školy. - hospodářská politika navrhovaná švédskými ekonomy 6. J. M. Alternativní směry soudobého ekonomického myšlení. - neoinstitucionalismus - teorie industriální, postindustriální a informační společnosti 13. Teorie veřejné volby. - ekonomická analýza politiky a úlohy vlády v ekonomice 14. Tradice a vývoj českého ekonomického myšlení. - vývoj českého ekonomického myšlení do I. světové války - české ekonomické myšlení mezi dvěma světovými válkami - české ekonomické myšlení po II. světové válce
