Subject syllabus:

1. Introduction. Determination of conditions of the course. Analysis of the literature. 2. Description and delimitation of the world economy, its formation and historical development. 3. Basic theory of foreign trade - Mercantilism, the theory of absolute and comparative advantages, Heckscherův - Ohlin model and its modifications, alternative theories of foreign trade. 4. Foreign trade and trade policy. Liberalism vs. Protectionism. Trade policy instruments and basic division. 5. Role of nation states, transnational and international organizations in the world economy. 6th history and current distribution of "power" in the world economy. Focus on major world centers and new emerging centers - BRIC countries, BRIICS and NEXT-11th 7th globalization of the world economy. History and development of globalization. The three basic stages of globalization. Measurement of globalization. 8. Integration processes in the global economy. Distribution of integration processes. Basic stage makrointegrace. Significant integration groupings world. 9. The role of natural resources and energy in the world economy. Renewable and nonrenewable resources. Definition of the most important non-renewable resources and their role in the world economy. 10. Population factor in the global economy. Population and his race. Employment in the global economy. Migration. 11. Economic status of selected world protagonists - West. Defining basic world protagonists with a focus on the United States and Europe. Their history, economic status, current problems and threats. The economic status of selected world protagonists - Orient. Defining basic world protagonists, with a focus on China, India, Japan and the Middle East. Their history, economic status, current problems and threats. 12. Economic status of selected world protagonists - Africa. Defining basic world protagonists with a focus on sub-Saharan Africa and selected countries in the region. Their history, economic status, current problems and threats., 13. Institutional part hospodářstvých international economic relations. 14. International organizations and the evolution of the international monetary system.
